With theOutlanderseries wrapping up, not counting spin-offs, Sony is looking for their next fantasy romance television series and has found it from author Jennifer L. Armentrout.FromBlood and Ashwas published on July 14, 2025, right at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, and soon became a popular fan-favorite. Its sequel,A Kingdom of Flesh and Fire, was released six months later in September, and since then, the book series expanded with 2021’sThe Crown of Gilded Bones, 2022’sThe War of Two Queens, and 2023’sA Soul of Ash and Bloodand a sixth book,The Primal of Blood and Boneset for release in 2025. Combining those six novels with the four books in the spin-off seriesFlesh and Fire,a lot of material is primed for adaptation.

Deadlinereports thatSony has secured the rights to theFrom Blood and Ashseriesand is looking at developing a television show adaptation. The project will be an ongoing series looking to adapt the first five books in the franchise, with the intention to develop later published books into subsequent seasons. No showrunner or details about the series have been announced.
