Typically, force-sensitive characters tend to either become Jedi or turn to the Dark Side. Sometimes, even both. However, the incredibly expansiveStar Warsuniverse has introduced audiences to many force-sensitive characters who don’t affiliate themselves with either Jedi or Sith. So, without further ado, here are 10 force-sensitiveStar Warscharacters who aren’t Jedi or Sith.
10Maz Kennata
Maz Kennata is a fan-favorite character from the sequel trilogy, and an important one at that. Sadly, afterThe Force Awakens, however, Maz never really had much screen time, but, the screen time she had was enough to make us fall in love with her character.
Maz is responsible for guiding Rey towards Luke’s lightsaber and introduced the now-powerful Jedi to the force. While Maz’s connection to the force may be limited,The Force Awakensdoes show that she has at least some connection to the force. Maz describes the force in great detail to Rey and when Maz closes her eyes to feel the force flow through her, the film showcases that Maz is somehow connected to the force.

Bendu is a mystical force creature who makes an appearance in season three of the hit animatedStar WarsTV show,Star Wars: Rebels. The enormous mystical creature holds extraordinary power, yet Bendu typically hides his power and remains neutral in the affairs of mortals. However, when his planet came under attack by the Empire, Bendu shows the Empire the true capabilities of his power.
Protecting the environment, Bendu had the ability to control entire weather systems, appear and disappear at will, and like many force-sensitive characters, Bendu holds great wisdom.

As a new character introduced in theObi-Wan KenobiDisney+ TV series, Reva was an ex-Jedi youngling, working under Darth Vader as one of the many Inquisitors. However, it’s revealed later in the series that Reva is working for Vader in order to kill him, after what he did to her friends at the Jedi Temple, during the Great Jedi Purge.
Reva is a deeply compelling character, whose anger and thirst for vengeance drives her and fuels her vicious fighting style. She may not hold any unique abilities, but Reva manages to hold her own against Vader.

7The Grand Inquisitor
The Jedi Hunters are some of the most awesome and fearsome warriors in the galaxy, but none as deadly nor as feared as The Grand Inquisitor. Although The Grand Inquisitor was a Jedi Temple Guard, he eventually turned to the Dark Side, and later helped Vader lead hisarmy of Inquisitorsto hunt down and kill the last remaining Jedi. The Inquisitors aren’t actually Sith, and instead, just an army of force-sensitive Jedi Hunters working for Darth Vader.
Introduced inStar Wars: Rebels,The Grand Inquisitor’s intimidating design and unique double-bladed, spinning lightsaber instantly made him a fan favorite, and laid the groundwork for the rest of the Inquisitors to follow.

Finn was a character who got some atrocious treatment in the sequel trilogy. He was well utilized inThe Force Awakens, but for the rest of the trilogy, he was completely sidelined. We always assumed that Finn was force-sensitive, but it wasn’t untilThe Rise of Skywalkerthat our theories were fully confirmed. Granted, the movie doesn’t delve too deeply into this, but hopefully, Finn returns for Rey’s upcoming movie, and delves into his connection to the force.

5Chirrut Imwe
Rogue Onewas filled with many memorable characters, but none were more lovable or awesome than Chirrut Imwe. Imwe is one of the deadliest combatants inStar Wars, and his lack of vision doesn’t stop him from taking down dozens of Stormtroopers with his impeccable combat skills. If he had a lightsaber, he would be way too overpowered. As with anyDonnie Yencharacter.
Whether Chirrut Imwe is in fact connected to the force is left a little ambiguous, however, his belief in the Force allows him to walk through a barrage of gunfire without getting shot. Which does leave many to believe that he is force-sensitive.
4Leia Organa
For decades, fans have been theorizing that Leia Organa is force-sensitive like her brother Luke, and her father, Anakin Skywalker. Thankfully, the sequel trilogy finally answered that question. It’s revealed inThe Rise of Skywalkerthat Leia was actually trained by her twin brother, and although she does possess the force and trained with Luke, Leia never actually became a Jedi.
3Asajj Ventress
Asajj Ventress waseasily one of the best villainsinThe Clone Wars. She had a compelling arc that saw Ventress as Count Dooku’s Sith Apprentice before being betrayed by him and hunted like a dog, due to Sidious' fear of her ever-growing power. With nowhere to turn after visiting her people, The Nightsisters, Ventress became a Bounty Hunter who eventually helped Ahsoka during the time she was framed for bombing the Jedi Temple.
Grogu is one of the best and most adorable characters inStar Warshistory. His beady little eyes, cute mannerisms, and love for his Beskar Armor-clad surrogate father made us love the adorable green character instantly. Not long after his debut, it’s revealed that Grogu is force-sensitive.
Seeing Grogu’s force powers and abilities grow with each season is easily one of the most compelling aspects ofThe Mando-verse. Grogu’s journey saw him learn a little about the force from Ahsoka, which eventually saw the Din Djarin and Grogu meeting with Luke Skywalker, who took Grogu to train as a Jedi. However, Grogu missed his surrogate father too much and decided to become a Mandalorian instead. Grogu is infused with extraordinary power, and we can’t wait to see his power grow.
1Ahsoka Tano
Ahsoka is thebest characterto come out ofThe Clone Warsseries, and her impeccable arc only backs this up. As Anakin’s young apprentice, Ahsoka was banished from the Jedi Order for being framed for bombing the Jedi Order. Granted, they did welcome her back after the true culprit was discovered, however, Ahsoka’s faith in the Jedi Order faded, forcing her to walk away on her own path with the force, as a “Grey Jedi”.
Ahsoka is an awesome character with extraordinary combat skills, exemplary force abilities, and great wisdom, all of which she learned from her former master, Anakin Skywalker. Wecan’t wait to see her character againin the upcomingAhsokaseries.
