One has to wonder if the viewership will be high forStrange Worldon Disney+. Recently,Strange Worldstar Gabrielle Union suggested that this may have been a movie that more people would just prefer to watch at home, thus waiting for the streaming release. While filmgoers will make exceptions for certain films likeTop Gun: MaverickandBlack Panther: Wakanda Forever, Union suggests that your average filmgoer has gotten used to waiting for many releases at home because of the pandemic.
“I don’t know, I think people get comfortable watching things at home,” she toldVariety.

Will Strange World Fare Better on Streaming?
We’ll see soon enough if the film has a better turnout on streaming. The reviews aren’t flawless, though they do lean more on the positive side with a 74% score at Rotten Tomatoes. Our own Julian Roman observed that the movie leans on some “controversial viewpoints,” butfor the most part enjoyed it, calling it an “entertaining children’s film.”
Don Hall (Big Hero 6) directs using a screenplay by Qui Nguyen. The cast includes Jake Gyllenhaal, Dennis Quaid, Jaboukie Young-White, Gabrielle Union, and Lucy Liu. The official synopsis forStrange Worldis as follows:
