Mike DeLuca and filmmaker James Gunn have teased its arrival soon, with the former having also now stated that the latter “understood the assignment” when it comes to bringing the Man of Steel back to the big screen. Following the magnificent teaser trailer, fans have been waiting for the next look atSuperman, one of the summer’s most anticipated films. While fans got an extended scenethat debuted in front ofA Minecraft Movie, many were shocked that Warner Bros. didn’t release the newest trailer on Superman Day on April 18.

Where is the ‘Superman’ Trailer?
After missing Superman Day and the release of the studio’s big hit,Sinners, many fans expected the next trailer forSupermanto be released at the end of April or early May to debut in front of screenings ofThunderbolts*, the first movie of the summer movie season. Yet Warner Bros. and DC Studios are waiting a bit longer, as part of a very deliberate marketing strategy that Gunn has employed.Supermanskipped a San Diego Comic-Con presence in 2024, contrasting withThunderbolts*andThe Fantastic Four: First Steps, which had big marketing pushes at the convention.
Some fans have expressed concern that Warner Bros. is waiting too long to release a new trailer forSuperman, as the film will be out in less than two months, and the same trailer has now been playing in theaters for over four months. However, it appears thatWarner Bros. is taking a page fromBarbie’s marketing playbook.Barbie, likeSuperman, had a teaser trailer in December, and its first full trailer didn’t arrive until July 30, 2025. After that trailer, it was a marketing blitzkrieg for Barbie, whichSupermanwill likely follow with various tie-ins and promotional events. Even though the second trailer forBarbiecame out two months before the film’s release, that didn’t stop it from becoming the highest-grossing movie of 2023.

With that in mind, it means theSupermantrailer might arrive next week, likely before Warner Bros.' newest release,Final Destination: Bloodlines, and theIMAX re-release ofSinners. It could also hold off until Memorial Day weekend likeBarbiedid and play before bothMission: Impossible—The Final ReckoningandLilo & Stitch, two high-profile movies that could make forone of the biggest Memorial Day weekends of all time. Anyone who goes to the movies on Memorial Day weekend will likely get the newestSupermantrailer, putting the Man of Steel front and center in audiences' minds heading into its June 26, 2025, release date.
