Sydney Sweeneyreturns to the big screen for a bloody good time Friday in director Michael Mohan’sImmaculate. The horror movie is a far cry from her last appearance in Sony’sMadame Web. And while speaking with MovieWeb in a brand-new interview, Sweeney discusses her acting and production choices for the new picture. In particular, Sweeney explains what it was like to shoot the harrowing nightgown scene where her character, Cecilia, tries to outrun the bone-chilling hands of fate. Sweeney said:
“It’s freezing cold, it had rained and, of course, the field was soaking wet with like a layer of frost, and I was barefoot. My dress was all covered in blood. So, it was wet and cold and sticky, and freezing out. My feet went numb, but I still outran the guys almost every take, and they kept yelling at me, ‘Slow down!’

Sweeney continued:
“But Cecilia just would come through me as like, ‘We’ve got to get out of here!’ It was one of the most beautiful shots. It was a difficult shot to do, because we wanted it to be a wide oner, but I really fought for pushing in and being able to break it up into little bits of moments.”
Sydney Sweeney Loves the Horror Genre
It doesn’t seem like there’s anything actress Sydney Sweeney can’t do these days. True,Madame Webdidn’t land with critics or audiences, but Sweeney still provided a solid on-screen presence for her version of Spider-Woman. And while the actress recently made a huge impression inthe successful rom-comAnyone but You, Sweeney also admits to having a strong passion for the horror genre. Sweeney said in a recent interview withMoviefone:
“It is fun. It’s always funny because whenever people ask like, ‘Is it dark and hard? Is it hard to jump out of it?’ I always find that sometimes the most heartbreaking or darkest scenes, everybody’s just having a really great time. When I’m drenched in blood, we’re all laughing and running around.”

Sydney Sweeney Reveals Who Could Entice Her Return to the Spider-Verse After Madame Web
Sydney Sweeney thinks it would “be so cool” to share scenes with a certain actress who is already well-established in Spider-Man’s world.
But I love the horror genre. I love that you can just push the boundaries, like there’s no rules to the world. I think that that’s just fun to play with cinematically, character-wise, storytelling-wise, and I think it’s a lot of fun.
