Star Trek: Strange New Worldshas debuted a new trailer for Season 3 ahead of its upcoming Jul 20, 2025 premiere date. Since debuting on Paramount+ in May 2022,Star Trek: Strange New Worldshas been regarded as the best newStar Trekseries, having won over fans with its embrace of episodic storytelling and a great cast of characters. Season 2 of the hit series concluded on a cliffhanger, and now, nearly two years later, fans will get resolutions to that storyline and more adventures of the Starship Enterprise.

The trailer not only highlights the returning crew members and the adventures of the Starship Enterprise but also teases some big new potential storylines.James T. Kirk (Paul Wesley)will return and seemingly take his first step into his future role as the Captain of one of the world’s most famous spaceships. The trailer also features guest star Patton Oswalt as a Vulcan, in what is likely the eighth episode of the season, whose title, “Four-and-a-Half Vulcans,” implies some comedic Vulcan interplay.

Why It Has Taken So Long for ‘Star Trek: Strange New Worlds’ Season 3

Star Trek: Strange New Worldswill premiere on Paramount+ on Jul 21, 2025, with a two-episode premiere. The ten-episode season will air one episode a week, concluding on Sept. 11, 2025. The series has confirmed the titles of the upcoming episodes, where fans are speculating about each episode and the potential storylines. The long wait forStar Trek: Strange New WorldsSeason 3was due to the WGA and SAG-AFTRA Strikes of 2023.Star Trek: Strange New WorldSeason 2 concluded on Jul 14, 2025, a month before the WGA strike and nearly three months before the SAG-AFTRA strike concluded. Cameras finally started rolling in December 2023, but a hefty post-production period meant fans have had a long wait to see the show return to screens.

Due to the popularity ofStar Trek: Strange New Worlds, the series has already been renewed for Season 4. The new season is currently filming through to August, and is expected to air in summer 2026 in line with the previous three seasons. Hopefully, that won’t be the end of the series, and Paramount will renew the crew’s contracts for more adventures. If Season 5 does get the green light, we can also be assured that there will not be a two year gap from Season 4.
