The Company You Keephas been given a series order at ABC,Variety reports. The upcoming drama starsMilo Ventimigliaas Charlie, a con-man who finds himself on a collision course with undercover CIA officer Emma, played by Catherine Haena Kim. The show was ordered to pilot for the 2022 pilot season slate and is set to debut in 2023. AlthoughThe Company You Keepwas the last second-cycle pilot to learn its future, expectations for the pickup were high.The Company You Keepis adapted from the 2019 hit Korean seriesMy Fellow Citizens.
The Company You Keep’s official synopsis reads:
“A night of passion leads to love between con-man Charlie (Ventimiglia) and undercover CIA officer Emma, who is unknowingly on a collision course professionally. While Charlie ramps up the ‘family business’ so he can get out for good, Emma’s closing in on the vengeful criminal who holds Charlie’s family debts in hand — forcing them to reckon with the lies they’ve told so they can save themselves and their families from disastrous consequences.”
The Company You Keepwill also star William Fichtner, Tim Chiou, Freda Foh Shen, James Saito, Sarah Wayne Callies, Felisha Terrell, and Polly Draper. Julia Cohen and Phil Klemmer serve as show-runners and executive producers. Cohen penned the pilot episode, which was directed and executive produced by Ben Younger. Ventimiglia and Russ Cundiff also serve as executive producers under their DiVide Pictures banner, alongside Jon M. Chu and Caitlin Foito of Electric Somewhere, Todd Harthan and Lindsay Goffman. Deanna Harris of DiVide Pictures serves as producer. The studio behind the project is 20th Television.
