The Flashmay be heading to the big screen next year inJustice League, but fans in general seem to be way more on board with Barry Allen over on the small screen. CW’sThe Flashis among the most well loved superhero shows on TV right now, and fans just got another big reason to love the show even more.Tom Felton, who you may know as Draco Malfoy from theHarry Potterseries, has just been confirmed as a series regular for season 3 ofThe Flash.

The casting news came fromTV Line, and they revealed thatFeltonwill be playing a character who goes by the name of Julian Dorn. Unless they have renamed the character, it doesn’t appear to be anyone significant from the comics, at least for now. The report also confirms that Dorn will be a fellow crime scene investigator at the Central City Police Department. It also looks likeFeltonwill once again be playing a bit of an antagonist role, as his character “suspects there’s more to Barry Allen than just his good guy reputation.”

Fans are already very excited heading intoseason 3ofThe Flash, because it will be adapting one of the most popular storylines in the character’s history, if not in the history of DC Comics as a whole. It has already been revealed that the season 3 premiere episode will be titled “Flashpoint.” Fans of the comics, or those who have seen the very solid 2013 animated featureThe Flashpoint Paradoxknow exactly what that means and how big that is for season 3. Spoilers ahead for season 2 ofThe Flashif you aren’t caught up yet. The set up forFlashpointalready seems to be in place, as Barry was able to finally travel back in time at the end of season 2 and save his mom’s life from Reverse Flash. Something he wasn’t able to do previously. As any fan of comics or sci-fi will tell you, anytime you mess withtimelines, there are serious consequences, and that is the crux of theFlashpointstoryline.

As forTom Feltonspecifically, it is hard to know exactly how his character is going to fit into the larger story for season 3 ofThe Flash, but it looks like he is going to be someone for Barry to contend with, as opposed to an ally.Feltonhas kept busy since leaving the wizarding world ofHarry Potter, but he hasn’t done a huge amount of high-profile projects sinceThe Deathly Hallows Part 2.The Flashis one of the most talked about, well liked andpopular showson TV right now, so it may not be a blockbuster movie, but it is pretty high profile.The Flashseason 3 is set to premiere on October 4 at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
