Rob Zombie’s Munsters Reboot Has Always Been His Dream Project

Rob Zombie clearly loves violence and foul language in his horror movies, but he still has a soft spot for the family-friendly comedy featured onThe Munsters. The upcoming reboot has been given a PG rating, a first for Zombie, as it was vital for him to have the new film be as faithful as possible to the original series. That is because Zombie has been a lifelong fan ofThe Munstersand has essentially been preparing his whole life for the movie.

“Everything fell the way it should have, and Jeff (Daniel Phillips) is perfectly cast and he will be so entertaining in the part of Herman. Sheri (Moon Zombie) is so delightful as well,” Grandpa actor Dan Roebuck said of the reboot, perHorror Geek Life. “There’s not a better person in Hollywood, or anywhere else on the planet, who should be makingThe Munstersmovie other than Rob Zombie. It’s gone through the hands of so many other people and I know Rob wasn’t just looking for something to attach his coattails to. He’s a huge fan of it and being a life-long fan approaching this material it really is as good as it gets.”

The Munstersreboot is expected to have a day-and-date release later in 2022, premiering both in theaters and on NBCUniversal’s streaming service Peacock.
