Elmo and hisSesame Streetpals are stepping into late night television as seen in the amusing new trailer for the red muppet’s upcoming talk show. As Elmo’s bedtime is about 7:30 p.m., the show is appropriately calledThe Not Too Late Show with Elmo, and the program will debut on HBO Max when the streaming service launches on May 27. While he won’t be staying up as late as other talk show hosts, Elmo will have his show formatted basically the same, featuring a similar set with a desk and celebrity guest interviews. you may watch the trailer below.

Several major celebrities are going to appear on the program as revealed in the trailer. Confirmed names so far include the Jonas Brothers, Blake Lively, Jimmy Fallon, Ben Platt, Jason Sudeikis, and residentgrumpy muppet Oscar the Grouch. Even famous superheroes will be appearing on the show, as none other than Batman can be seen stepping into the studio for an interview with Elmo. Musical guests will also be performing on the show, which will include a rendition of the Bert and Ernie classic “Rubber Ducky” by Kacey Musgraves.

This new Elmo-themed talk show is a part of a deal with HBO andSesame Streetto expand its original content for the network. Several streaming services are already available with several others entering the fray this year, so each one is going to have to add some must-see exclusive content to survive. In addition toSesame StreetandThe Not-Too-Late Show with Elmo, HBO Max will also be offering upcoming reboot series based onGremlins,The Boondocks, andGossip Girl. AFriendsrevival special is also in the works with all six original cast members, and the complete series will also be streaming exclusively on the service.

The Not-Too-Late Show with Elmolooks to be a fun program for all ages, offering a bit more appeal to older viewers with its talk show format compared toSesame Street. While the content will becompletely child-friendly, some viewers may find the wholesome content to be a nice break from the political humor on other late night talk shows. Meanwhile, children (and adults who are still kids at heart) can still watch new episodes ofSesame Streetwhen new episodes premiere on HBO; the 51st season will premiere on HBO Max in late 2020, moving the first-run episodes of the series over to the company’s streaming service.
