The series executive producers come from a variety of backgrounds.Queer Eye’sJane Fleming, David Collins, Michael Williams, Rob Eric; The Amazing Race’sBertram van Munster and Elise Doganieri; andThe Lord of the Rings’Mark Ordesky are all involved. This combination should ensure a well-done fantasy adventure that speaks to all audiences.

While there are some changes to the reboot, particularly the contestants’ age and the forces trying to tear Everealm apart,The Questis sure to be ajourney to take the entire family on. Here’s everything you need to know while you polish your sword in anticipation.
The Quest: ThePlot
Everealm is a land made up of twelve kingdoms that have lived in harmony for thousands of years, but someone, or something, continues to threaten the kingdom. When threats come up, the three Fates summon Paladins to rid the land of the malevolent forces. In the original series, which took place in the Kingdom of Saenctum, the Grand Vizier is imprisoned for treason. He’s seen breaking his handcuffs, alluding to what evil could be present in Everealm next.
In the revival, the contestants are called from a “world beyond” by the three Fates. The new Paladins aretasked with saving the kingdomsfrom an evil Sorceress. Their goal? Work together to bring the balance back to Everealm by completing a prophecy given to them by the Fates. The future of the land is in their hands.

The trailer shows the new Paladins doing various tasks, including sword fighting, unlocking chests, and completing a maze. Foes seem to wait around every corner, but there are several figures guiding the Paladines down the right path. In the original series, Paladins received “marks” as they did well in challenges, which may appear again. Like other competition shows, players are eliminated or “banished” by other players' votes. While it is unclear if that will continue with the reboot, that will likely be how contestants are eliminated.
The Quest: The Cast
The original series featured twelve adults competing, whereasthe reboot has eight teensaged thirteen to sixteen. Let’s meet the teens: Ava (15), Caden (16), David (14), Holden (16), Myra (16), Serean (14), Shaan (13), and Toshani (14). Ava is a nature lover and archer, while Holden writes his own fantasy books. Caden loves to perform, and Toshani is a hopeful detective. David is an athlete, Serean is full of energy, Myra loves anime, and Shaan can play four instruments. These Paladines have a variety of interests and skills, so it should be fun to see them work together to save Everealm.
In addition to the contestants, there are cast members that play the people of Everealm. The three Fates, Karu, Solas, and Talmuh, are portrayed by Louise Lagana, Sajel Oh, and Nandi Chapman, respectively. Emily Gateley plays Mila, a character who seems to help the Paladins on their quest. It wouldn’t be a fantasy realm without nobility. The lone princess of the series, Princess Adaline, is portrayed by Racquel Jean-Louis. The two princes, Prince Cederic and Prince Emmett, are played by Elliott Ross and Braeden De La Garza, respectively, with Kerwin Thompson playing King Silas. Production intended to film at the same castle the 2014 series did, the Burg Kreuzenstein outside Vienna, Austria. The pandemic changed those plans, causing the show to be filmed at the winery Castello di Amorosa in Napa County, California. Though they couldn’t film in the same location,Rob Eric and Michael Williams confirmed in a statement that they wanted the show to feel “authentic.”
We were very focused on the aesthetic of the show, from production design through costume design, making sure that everything felt authentic. We wanted both our Paladins and our audience to feel immersed in the epic world we created.
The Questis sure to be a greatadventure for the whole family. Just watch out for hidden foes along the way.
