Netflix’s New Mystery Comedy Reunites ‘MobLand’ Stars Pierce Brosnan & Helen Mirren in Star-Studded Trailer

Netflix has officially released the first trailer for ‘The Thursday Murder Club,’ which stars Pierce Brosnan and Helen Mirren.

As well as being acting royalty, the cast is astoundingly British (and Irish), and this allowed Chris Columbus to impart the islands' unique mannerisms into the script and during filming. “Pierce used this word for his character. I had no idea what it meant,” he said as an example. “And when I asked him, I was horrified. It was a word called ‘plonker.’ When he explained it, I was stunned, but I lean into that greatly.” On the extremity scale of British swear words, “plonker” is mild enough to say in front of a child. But it’s just one example of the experience and individuality the film’s cast brought toThe Thursday Murder Club.
