The time has come that we have to say goodbye toThe Umbrella Academyas season four -the final seasonof the well-loved series about the superpowered Hargreeves siblings - hits Netflix from today. If you’ve binge-watched the series already, you know what happens to Allison, Viktor, Luther, and the rest of their dark, deranged family. If not, then know that you should expect a bittersweet and very satisfying ending. At least according to the stars, who shared their thoughts on the series' end during the recent premiere in Los Angeles.

Since the first season ofThe Umbrella Academydebuted on Netflix, the dark, unorthodox superhero series has been praised for its drama, gloomy humor, and stellar performances. Just like the fans themselves, who have anxiously been awaiting the arrival of season four ever since the teaser trailer earlier this year, the cast can barely contain their excitement for what’s to come next. When talking toThe Hollywood Reporter, Emmy Raver-Lampman, who plays Allison, weighed in on the ending, and according to her, the fans will get “the ending that this show deserves”, which is one “that we’re all proud of, and I think the fans will love.”, she added.

Raver-Lampman also had nothing but respect for the writers as she stated that “what the writers had to figure out – how to tie all these storylines up and close this chapter for this family – was probably incredibly hard. I know it was incredibly hard."

The Umbrella Academy Showrunner Denies Accusations of ‘Toxic’ Behavior Behind the Scenes

The Umbrella Academy showrunner Steve Blackman has been accused of cultivating a toxic environment behind the scenes but denies the claims.

Her fellow co-star Tom Hopper (Luther) joined Raver-Lampman in her excitement. In aninterview with MovieWeb, he mentioned that the ending will be “good and emotional” and now adds that he thinks that “[the ending] ties up a lot of loose ends. I’m really pleased with how it ended up." David Castañeda, who stars as Diego, echoed these sentiments, stating thatThe Umbrella Academyfans can expect a “clean-cut resolution” withno hint at any kind of cliffhanger.

Could There Be an Umbrella Academy Spin-Off?

For both Elliot Page, whose character underwent some changeslast season to reflect the actor’s real-life transition, and Justin H. Min, who stars as Ben,the series coming to an end feels bittersweet, with the former saying, “you’re able to be more tired, or it’s a long day, but it was really nice to know how precious the time was and playing that character for” while the latter added that “it’s sweet in a way that, you know, we’re very grateful to close out the season in the manner in which we did, and we knew it was going to be the last season going in. But, of course, it was bittersweet because it has really become my family – the cast, the crew – we have been with these people for more than six years now. So it is hard to say goodbye.”

The Umbrella Academy

While Season 4 marks the ending ofThe Umbrella Academyas we know it, we might not have seen the last of the Hargreeves family. Besides looking back at what the series has brought for them, the stars also look forwardto potential spin-offs. Hopper says he would love to make “a spin-off, to see what he [Luther] was up to before the Umbrella Academy existed,” while Raver-Lampman wants a spin-off series that centres around the incredible villains, saying she “would love an origin story of Gene and Jean, or The Handler, mostly because I’d love to see her costumes. And I’m also a huge Cameron Britton [who’s portraying Hazel] fan so he can have a spinoff any day in my book.”

The Umbrella AcademySeason 4 is coming to Netflix on June 10, 2025.
