James Cameron’sTitanicis coming to Netflix in a few days' time, and some are saying the streaming platform should have held off from adding the hit film to its library of available titles. The film will start streaming on July 1 in the United States and Canada, and the announcement comes shortly after the Titan submersible tragedy. Operated by OceanGate, the tourist sub was en route to the Titanic wreckage site in the Atlantic Ocean when it was destroyed by an implosion, killing all five occupants. The timing ofTitanichitting Netflix so soon after the tourist sub incident has sparked some criticism on social media. One person said in response to the news that the “timing is so wrong,” while another Twitter user remarked, “Titanicbeing on Netflix after the submarine imploding is nasty timing.““Bro, Netflix pal,” says someone else. “Even that I liked theTitanicmovie, but released it after the unfortunate event that took 5 lives is bad timing.
This is not the only new title coming to Netflix that hasdrawn some criticismbecause of the timing. The streamer also recently released a trailer forThe Deepest Breath, a docuseries about freediving in deep waters. That bothThe Deepest BreathandTitanicare making their way to Netflix in the days after the Titan’s implosion near the sunken ship has some people scratching their heads.

“Netflix dropping a trailer for a deep sea diving documentary and bringing backTitanicwhile all the stuff is going on right now is an unachieved level of ‘excellent timing, guys,'” as another person says.

To take place at the same exact site with all the diving that’s going on all around the world, I think it’s just astonishing. It’s really quite surreal.”
