DC Universe brought the goods to San Diego Comic-Con, which included a first look atTitansseason 2. The streaming service also confirmed the show’s return date, which is set for Friday, September 6. So mark your calendars, DC fans because Robin and the gang are coming back for another round of surprisingly violent comic book action, and they’re bringing some brand new friends along for the ride in the sophomore season.
The news was later confirmed in a tweet followingComic-Con, which also included the logo for season 2.

As for the footage, it was a sizzle reel, as opposed to a traditional trailer, which included highlights from season 2. Amongst those highlights were glimpses at Esai Morales as Deathstroke, and Drew Van Acker as Aqualad. The footage wrapped up with Deathstroke, setting him up as a major part of the seasons. Those in attendance also got a look at the revampedTitanslineup, which includes Hawk, Dove, Wonder Girl and Superboy, played by Joshua Orpin. They joinDick Grayson(Brenton Thwaites), Starfire (Anna Diop), Raven (Tegan Croft), and Beast Boy (Ryan Potter).
The second season will be bringing in some other new characters as well, such as Jericho (Chella Man), Ravager (Chelsea Zhang), and Mercy Graves (Natalie Gumede). Not to mention Iain Glen, who will be portrayingBruce Wayne, aka Batman. Sadly, the footage hasn’t made its way online, so those who weren’t at Comic-Con will have to wait a little bit longer to actually catch a glimpse for themselves. On the plus side, with the premiere just around the corner, we’re likely going to get a proper trailer making its way online sooner rather than later.
In other DC Universe news, it was announced thatDoom Patrolwill be getting a second season as well, but with a twist. The DC Comics adaptation will be airing episodes on DC Universe and HBO Max simultaneously. The recently announcedWarnerMedia streaming serviceis set to be wide-ranging and they’re apparently testing the waters with DC content. The first trailer for theHarley Quinnanimated series was also revealed and, last but not least,Young Justicewas picked up for season 4.Swamp Thingremains a one-and-done affair.
Titanswas the first live-action series produced for the DC Universe streaming service. The service itself costs $7.99 per month, or $74.99 annually. There have been some questions about its possible long-term viability, with DC’s parent company WarnerMedia begins to pour its resources into HBO Max. But withDoom Patrol’s pick up, it’s possible the other shows could make the jump as well, if that time ever comes. Be sure to check out theTitansseason 2 logo below.
