Captain Americastar Chris Evans is not a fan of President Donald Trump. TheAvengers: Endgameactor uses his social media account to call out Trump frequently and he is not afraid of dividing his fan base to do so. However, things were taken to the next level over the weekend when the President of the United States slammed “progressive Democratic congresswomen” and told them to go back to their own countries, falsely implying they weren’t natural-born American citizens. Trump suggested, “they go back and help fix the totally broken and crime infested places from which they came.”

These recentDonald Trumptweets did not sit well with a lot of people, including both Democrats and Republicans. Chris Evans decided to post a message to Trump on Twitter, referring to him as Biff, as in Biff Tannen from theBack to the Futurefranchise. Evans did not hold back in his criticism of the president and called him racist. He had this to say.

“This is racist,Biff… The only thing worse than actually being hateful and racist, is casually wielding hate and racism to activate your base in an unrelenting, painfully transparent, and crushingly on-brand effort to soothe your only true devotion: feeding your insatiable ego.”

Ilhan Omar of Minnesota, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York, Rashida Tlaib of Michigan, and Ayanna Pressley of Massachusetts are the women Donald Trump was referring to in his tweetstorm over the weekend. Ocasio-Cortez, Tlaib, and Pressley were all born in the United States, while Omar became a citizen in 2000 at the age of 17. All four women have been vocally opposed to the conditions of border detention facilities and are all women of color.

Chris Evansis currently riding high from the release ofAvengers: Endgame, which is close to becoming the highest grossing movie of all time. However, that is not what is concerning the Captain America actor at the moment. Instead, Evans is using his platform to speak out against Donald Trump, which some Marvel Cinematic Universe fans may disagree with. A lot of entertainment fans wish their favorite actors and actresses would stay out of politics, while others believe they should use their voice to reach as many people as they possibly can.

Donald Trump has denied that his comments were racist and instead flipped the tables and insinuated the congresswomen were the real racists. When asked if he was bothered by white nationalists “finding common cause” in his remarks, Trump simply said, “It doesn’t concern me because many people agree with me.” He then said if the congresswomen don’t like the way the United States is being run, that they can “leave.” Undoubtedly, many Americans are upset over the president’s response, while others, like Trump said, agree with him.
