Showtime is bringingTwin Peaksback in a big way this spring. It will be an 18 hour reunion for friends and fans of thesmall logging townin the great Northwest. What some might not realize is that today is officially Twin Peaks day. It’s a spot celebrated by many on the fandom calendar. To help the festivities along, Showtime has released two new posters. And they offer the ominous warning: It is happening again.

“Fans, 11:30 a.m., February Twenty-fourth. Entering the 18-part return to the town of #TwinPeaks. #TwinPeaksDay”

Showtime released these posters on their officialTwitter. The first shows Laura Palmer before her demise. And the second shows Agent Dale Cooper looming ghostlike over the wet forest setting. As many fans know, February 24, at precisely 11:30 AM,Kyle MacLachlan’s Agent Dale Cooper entered the sleepy Washington state town of Twin Peaks for the first time to investigate the death of high school prom queen Laura Palmer. And nothing was ever the same again. Not for TV fans or murder mystery aficionados.

The precise momentAgent Dale Cooperentered Twin Peaks is so well known because of his arduous ritual of documenting every moment of his journey into a tape recorder. In the pilot episode, he is seen dictating his investigation to his secretary Diane while driving along a quiet stretch of road.

The key art is exciting, yet it really shows us nothing new. Except that it teases another murder mystery happening all over again. Like the recent trailers that were released, it trades on nostalgia for the past. Showtime president David Nevins said at TCA earlier this year that these new episodes are all “about Agent Dale Cooper’s odyssey to Twin Peaks.” Season 3 will pick up 25 years after the original story ended. It also marks an interesting time, as Palmer told Cooper in the last episodes of the original that she would see him again in 25 years.

David Lynchdirected all 18 episodes of the Twin Peaks revival. The series was written and executive produced by Mark Frost and Lynch. Sabrina S. Sutherland is also EP. Here’s the exciting new one-sheets for the return of Twin Peaks.
