With production still under way onFast and Furious 8, the time has come for a newFast Fridayvideo from the set. This week,Vin Dieselis introducing fans to his young daughter, a.k.a. “The Studio Head,” who offers her thoughts about this latest installment of theFast & Furioussaga. We also get plenty of new footage from the production, with a few behind-the-scenes glimpses at stars such asKristofer Hivju,Dwayne Johnson,Tyrese GibsonandLudacris.
This video, which surfaced onYouTubetoday, featuresVin Dieselasking his daughter if she thinks they are honoring the entire franchise with this sequel, with the youngster revealing that everyone is working hard, and she thinks it will be a great movie. We also see plenty of footage from this epic shoot thus far, with footage from Iceland, Cuba, Cleveland, Atlanta and more. We don’t know how much longer is left of principal photography, which began three months ago in Cuba.
Previous Fast Friday videos has given us our first look at Charlize Theron as the new villain Cipher, plus an insane “zombie car” stunt and a glimpse at the first day on set where the entire cast was assembled together. The cast keeps growing and growing as well, with Oscar winnerHelen Mirrenconfirming last month that she has a role in Fast & Furious 8. The Oscar-winning actress made headlines last year when she revealed how much she wants to star in aFast and Furious movieand play a hard-driving villain. However, she also confirmed that she won’t get to do any driving this time out, but maybe we’ll get to see her back inFast & Furious 9and the franchise finale,Fast & Furious 10.
The story will primarily take place in New York, with production set for the Big Apple, Atlanta and Russia. The crew has already shot in Cuba and Iceland. It is believed that the Cuba scenes will introduce fans toDominic Torreto’s Cuban family. It isn’t known how long principal photography is scheduled to last on Fast & Furious 8, but we know this will be the first installment of the franchise’s final trilogy. Universal has already set an June 17, 2025 release date for Fast & Furious 9, and the franchise closes out with Fast & Furious 10 on July 29, 2025.
