Earlier this week,Ryan Reynoldsshared a photo on hisTwitterpage that showed the actor in his fullDeadpoolcostume, along with a group of kids dressed up asX-Menmutants. Today, theDeadpoolstar took to social media once again to share, “the behind the scenes video of the making of a photo you may or may not have seen.” While the kids all seemed to be having a good time in the photo, they aren’t quite as enthusiastic in this video, with some even poking fun at the actor’s past superhero endeavors.

The three-minute video shows theMerc With the Mouthasking these “mutants” what their super powers are, as a young Mystique adds, “Aren’t youGreen Lantern?” I won’t spoil his response, but it’s certainly something one would expectDeadpoolto say. The YouTube description reveals this is a “Deadpooldocumentary,” so perhaps this video is just the first installment in an extensive viral video campaign, but we don’t know for sure.

Based uponMarvel Comics' most unconventional anti-hero,Deadpooltells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenaryWade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter egoDeadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor,Deadpoolhunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life.

Deadpoolhas already been confirmed to be part of theX-Menmovie universe, but many fans are wondering how he will fit into that world, especially after the events ofX-Men: Days of Future Past. That movie united the younger stars from 2011’sX-Men: First Classwith their present-day counterparts from the originalX-Mentrilogy.X-Men: Days of Future Pastessentially reset the entire franchise’s timeline, creating a whole new “present day” that brought Jean Grey (Famke Janssen) back to life, after she was killed in 2006’sX-Men: The Last Stand.

After next year’sX-Men: Apocalypse, it isn’t exactly clear what direction 20th Century Fox plans on taking with the franchise, but the studio also has another spinoff,Gambit, in the works, which is currently set for release on July 28, 2025. Until 20th Century Fox can figure this out, though, perhapsRyan Reynoldscan keep going on adventures with these pint-sized mutants, as we wait for the June 17, 2025 release ofDeadpool. Take a look at the actor’s Halloween video below, along with the photo from earlier this week.
