Jon Favreau wanted to “honor the past” when makingThe Lion Kingreboot, but he says they also wanted to do something “fresh,” in the latest look behind-the-scenes. When the movie was in development, many were under the assumption it was going to be alive-action remake. Instead, it is made with CGI. With that being said, Favreau went about shooting the movie as close to live-action as he could by having the actors in the same room and interacting with each other to get the right performances.

Though the movie has yet to open in North America, it has been getting some pretty bad reviews in terms of the storyline.
