What Would Ronda Rousey Look Like as Captain Marvel?

Last week, UFC women’s championRonda Rouseyheld aRedditAMA session, where one fan asked if she’d ever consider starring in asuperhero movie. The actress/fighter revealed that the one role she’s interested in is the title character in the upcomingCaptain Marvelmovie, which has yet to be cast. In the days that followed,Ronda Rouseywas sent a number of illustrations with fans depicting her as Carol Danvers. Over the weekend, she shared a few of her favorites on herInstagrampage. Here’s what she had to say below.

It isn’t known if the actress has actually met withMarvel Studiosfor the role, or if she is even someone they would consider to take onCaptain Marvel. Along with dominating the women’s division in the UFC, with an undefeated 12-0 record, she has also found time to star inFurious 7andEntourage, and she just signed on to star in a biopic based on her own life, entitledMy Fight/Your Fight. She is also attached to star in an adaptation ofBrad Thor’s novelThe Athena Project.

Captain Marvel, a.k.a. Carol Danvers, made her firstcomic bookappearance in 1968’s “Marvel Super-Heroes” #13. She was a U.S. Air Force security chief who is transformed intoCaptain Marvelafter an explosion exposed her to Kree technology.Captain Marvel’s powers include superhuman strength and the ability to fly after her DNA was infused with a Kree alien. Given the character’s connection to Kree alien technology, it’s possible that she could show up inAvengers: Infinity War Part 2, one of the lastPhase Threemovies.

Nicole PerlmanandMeg LeFauveare currently writing the script forCaptain Marvel, but the project doesn’t have a director attached at this time. There was a rumor that the studio wantsAngelina Jolieto direct, but it isn’t known if the actress/filmmaker is interested in taking the helm on this project. Other actresses who have been rumored or have shown interest in the role areCharlize Theron,Katheryn Winnick,Jessica ChastainandKatee Sackhoff.
