‘What If…?’ Shows More MCU in Creative Ways

What If…?is one of the only Marvel shows to get more than one season on Disney+, and it’s easy to see why after watching. Each episode ofWhat If…?takes situations seen in past Marvel shows and movies and changes aspects of them, allowing fans to see more of their favorite characters. The animated episodes typically feature voices from the actors who play the same characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Sometimes, the episodes help create excitement around new releases. Season three has a few episodes tied to recent MCU projects. “What If… Agatha Went to Hollywood?” will show more of fan-favorite witch Agatha Harknessafter her showAgatha All Along. “What If… The Red Guardian Stopped the Winter Soldier” will familiarize people with Red Guardian before he appears in the movieThunderbolts*in 2025. The third season will also have Storm in an episode, who was seen most recently in Marvel’s other ongoing animated show,X-Men ‘97.

The Greatest Episode of Any Animated Superhero Show Was Just Released

X-Men ‘97 fifth episode, “Remember It,” has been called one of the best superhero episodes ever; here is why it is so great.

Chris Hemsworth, Benedict Cumberbatch, and more have appeared in manyWhat If…?episodes and even A-list actors who barely appeared in the MCU star in episodes, such as Jeff Goldblum. Chadwick Boseman even had his last role in the first season ofWhat If…?as Black Panther, which won the show its Emmy for his performance. Viewers can expect to hear actors like Samuel L. Jackson and Mark Ruffalo in the new and final season ofWhat If…?

One of the greatest strengths ofWhat If…?is the show’s ability to weave episodes’ enthralling plots. Dedicated viewers will remember Strange Supreme’s introduction in the emotional season one episode “What If… Doctor Strange Lost His Heart Instead of His Hands?” or Captain Carter’s appearance in the series’ first episode. These characters and others have continuously appeared throughout the show, and will likely play integral parts in the third season. Each season finale has featured characters from differentWhat If…?scenarios working together, and with the series ending, viewers will hopefully be treated to an epic conclusion.
