Deadlinereports that this biopic will delve into the life ofWilliam Marston, a Harvard psychologist and inventor who createdWonder Womanin 1941. The cast also includesRebecca HallasWilliam Marston’s wife Elizabeth, a psychologist and inventor, andBella Heathcoteas Olive Byrne, one ofMarston’s former students who had a polyamorous relationship with the married couple.William Marston’s enduring creation was heavily influenced by both Elizabeth and Olive’s feminist ideals.

The movie will center on howWilliam Marstondealt with the controversy over his creation, which his critics contended would turn young women intolesbians, while keeping his unconventional home life a secret, which would have destroyed all three of them if exposed.William Marstondied from skin cancer in 1947 at the age of 53, with both Elizabeth and Olive staying together as a couple, raisingWilliam’s children. Olive Byrne died in 1988, while Elizabeth Marston died in 1993 at the age of 100.
