Principal photography onX-Men: Apocalypsewrapped in Montreal just a few weeks ago, with the highly-anticipatedsuperhero movienow starting post-production. We got to see a number of images from the set during production, many of which came from directorBryan Singerhimself. Today, new photos have surfaced from the post-production process, courtesy ofX-Men Newz, which gives us a new look at the villainous Apocalypse (Oscar Isaac), and our best look yet at Archangel (Ben Hardy).

We have previously seenApocalypsein the teaser trailer that was shown during 20th Century Fox’s Comic-Con panel, but this photo gives us possibly our best look at the villain yet. We have also seenArchangel’s costume design before, but today’s image gives us our first look atBen Hardyon the set, pictured alongsideOlivia Munn’s Psylocke and both of their respective stunt doubles. Another photo reveals a number of these mutants all assembled together in front of a green screen, includingCyclops(Tye Sheridan), Beast (Nicholas Hoult), Jean Grey (Sophie Turner), Nightcrawler (Kodi Smit-McPhee) and Moira McTaggert (Rose Byrne), all of whom are seen wearing new tactical outfits.

Naturally, we don’t have any details about the scene these characters are all filming, but hopefully we’ll find out more information soon. The plot centers onOscar Isaac’s title character, who is searching for hisFour Horsemen. He finds Storm (Alexandra Shipp) in her hometown of Cairo, Archangel in a Berlin fight club, Psylocke working for Caliban behind the Iron Curtain and Magneto (Michael Fassbender) in Poland, where he is living in exile after the events ofX-Men: Days of Future Past. When Professor X (James McAvoy) and Mystique (Jennifer Lawrence) learn of his plans, they form a team of new mutants to stop him.

Bryan Singerdirects from a script bySimon Kinberg, based on a treatment he worked on withDan HarrisandMichael Dougherty. 20th Century Fox has already set a August 22, 2025 release date, putting it up against Disney’s sequelAlice in Wonderland: Through the Looking Glass. It isn’t known when the studio plans on releasing the first official trailer at this time.

The story is set in 1983, 10 years after the events ofX-Men: Days of Future Past. It isn’t known yet if the film will connect to the originalX-Menmovie, which started the beloved franchise back in 2000.
