Earlier today, directorBryan Singerrevealed a newposterfor the highly-anticipatedX-Men: Apocalypse, just hours after the first trailer arrived this morning. The filmmaker also took some time out of his day to hold a Twitter Q&A session on the officialX-Men Twitterpage, where he posted several brief video responses to questions from fans, and even a few of hisX-Men: Apocalypsestars.Alexandra Shipp(Storm),Olivia Munn(Psylocke),Ben Hardy(Angel) andSophie Turner(Jean Grey) chimed in with their questions for the director, but perhaps his most interesting response came when a fan asked him about the most challenging scene in the film. Here’s what the director had to say.

“AlthoughEvan PetersplaysQuicksilverthrough the run of the picture this time, there is a sequence that took a month and a half to shoot. It will only last on screen for about two or three minutes. Evan worked 17 days on it. It’s probably one of the most sophisticated shots I’ve ever done in my life.”

You may recall that, back in November,Evan Petershimself revealed that the scene in question is bigger, longer and more detailed than his beloved scene fromX-Men: Days of Future Past. That scene featured this speedy mutant using his gifts to humorously subdue a number of armed guards at the Pentagon. Unfortunately, we don’t know anything else about this scene, but we did get a tiny glimpse of it in the trailer that debuted today. The end of the first footage also gave us our first glimpse at a baldJames McAvoy, andBryan Singerrevealed during the Q&A that the actor actually shaved his head himself.

“James McAvoyinsisted on shaving off his own hair, so we actually have a video of me holding up my iPhone, facetimingPatrick StewartwatchingMcAvoyshave his own head. AndPatrickwas like, ‘Save some of that hair for me.'”

Since the dawn of civilization, he was worshiped as a god. Apocalypse, the first and most powerful mutant from Marvel’s X-Men universe, amassed the powers of many other mutants, becoming immortal and invincible. Upon awakening after thousands of years, he is disillusioned with the world as he finds it and recruits a team of powerful mutants, including a disheartened Magneto (Michael Fassbender), to cleanse mankind and create a new world order, over which he will reign. As the fate of the Earth hangs in the balance, Raven (Jennifer Lawrence) with the help of Professor X (James McAvoy) must lead a team of young X-Men to stop their greatest nemesis and save mankind from complete destruction."

The cast is rounded out byNicholas Hoult(Beast),Rose Byrne(Moira McTaggert),Evan Peters(Quicksilver).
