Despite the notable handicap of being killed off (even if it was offscreen) inXXX: State of the Union,Vin Dieselis coming back to one of the franchises that helped make him a star. The appropriately titledxXx: The Return of Xander Cageis coming out early next year and we now have a new international trailer to show us a bit more of what to expect. Surprisingly enough,Vin Dieselisn’t really the main focus of this trailer. It isOrange is the New BlackstarRuby Rose.
This latest international trailer forXXX: The Return of Xander Cagerecently made its way onto YouTube and truthfully looks more likexXx: The Arrival of Ruby Rose.Vin Dieselis featured in the footage, but the focus is very much onRuby Rose’s character, who in the movie goes by the name of Adele Wolff. Rest assured, this is still aVin Dieselaction movie. Here is the official synopsis forxXx: The Return of Xander Cage, in case you needed some reassurance.

The new trailer opens with a shot ofRuby Rosehanging out with a sniper rifle and protecting some lions from some poachers. She then gets pulled into action by Xander Cage, but the majority of the action, as well as a bad joke and a DJ set at a night club, all focus on the character of Adele Wolff. Honestly, if this was the first trailer we had seen for the movie, it would be hard to believe this wasn’t a female-led,xXxspinoff.
Vin Diesel’s first xXx did quite well at the box office, bringing in a total of $277.4 million worldwide from a $70 million budget. Despite the success of the first entry,Vin Dieseldid not return for the sequelXXX: State of the Union. Instead, that movie starredIce Cubeas a new recruit, Darius Stone. That sequel didn’t fare quite as well at the box office, to say the least, taking in just $26.8 million domestically and $71 million worldwide. Now more than a decade later,Vin DieselandSamuel L. Jacksonare both coming back. But they are joined by quite a few new, impressive cast members.
